2008 CityRoots Photo Journal now available!
UEI is excited to introduce the 2008 CityRoots Photo Journal, highlighting the hard work of over 180 dedicated community volunteers belonging to 11 neighborhood ecological restoration projects across the Boston area.
Over the course of the summer, 78 trees and close to 200 shrubs and perennials were proudly added to the Boston landscape, contributing to UEI's mission of building healthy, vibrant cities.
Congratulations to all our participants - 2008 was the most successful year in CityRoots history! See you in 2009!
Field Studies

The UEI curriculum challenges students to look at their city with new eyes. Field studies students engage in science education that fosters a sense of wonder about the health their urban environment. The field studies curriculum challenges students to reflect on the relationship between environmental and social justice. Field Studies students develop unique research questions through hands-on field ecology investigations and collaborate with peers from across Boston at our annual student conferences.
