Now Recruiting LEAH Mentors for the 2008-2009 School Year!
Applications will go out at the end of the summer. If you are interested in becoming a mentor this fall, read the info below and get in touch with us now. We'll mail you more information and an application in August. Send us an email at lowenber@bc.edu with your name, address, telephone, email, current school, and the grade you are going into.

Who Can Be A LEAH Mentor?
- Any BPS High School Student. Preference will be given to students in grades
10 & 11.
What Do LEAH Mentors Do?
- Learn about science and teaching younger kids
- Provide support for after school programs while serving as role models for
elementary and middle school students
- Meet and work with other high school students from across Boston
- Receive intensive training on behavioral management in the classroom, activity
preparation, and in science topics relevant to LEAH curriculum
- Attend resume writing and college access workshops
What Are The Requirements?
- Work two afternoons a week at
your placement
- Attend bi-weekly check-ins and
curriculum trainings
Are LEAH Mentors Paid?
- Yes, LEAH mentors are paid hourly for all the training they receive and
all the time they spend working at their placement
