Franklin A. Reece
UEI Executive Director
Mr. Reece is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of management experience in both industry and NGO’s. An enthusiastic entrepreneurial leader, he has demonstrated strengths in strategic planning, fundraising and financial management, product and program development, board development, marketing, and human capital building.
Most recently, Frank was consulting to a for-profit educational technology start-up that has developed a suite of online products to teach 21st Century workplace readiness skills to middle school-aged students. He led the Company’s strategic planning, business development and investor relation initiatives.
Earlier, he was the Executive Director of the Global Habitat Project, Inc., an after-school youth development literacy program that published the environmental science newsletter Greentimes. This “By Kids, For Kids”, youth-written publication is distributed to middle and elementary schools to enhance the science curriculum for over 30,000 Boston area students. Frank co-founded the organization in 1993 and took over its leadership in 2001 when he was also serving as a Senior Fellow at Tufts University’s College of Citizenship and Public Service (now Tisch College).
In 2006, Frank merged the Global Habitat Project into the Urban Ecology Institute (UEI). Frank worked closely with UEI’s Founding Executive Director, Charlie Lord, during this transition and rapid growth period for UEI.
